How Excel As Yourself works
Neurodivergency shows up differently for everyone.
The aim of the Excel As Yourself programme is not to correct or fix you but to use your individual strengths to create a personalised support structure that fits your brain and your real working environment.
Together we explore the following areas:
| E | ENVIRONMENT | We map out where you’re falling behind at work, what drains your capacity and where masking is costing you energy. |
| X | EXERTION | We look at how you can remove unnecessary effort. I’ll support you to design a way of working that works for your brain and adjust it until it fits. |
| C | CONSISTENCY | We work on how you can plan your work to fit your energy levels. You’ll learn how to follow through and support your executive functioning as well as stay on track even when your workload, focus or energy shift. |
| E | EXPECTATIONS | We work on how you can manage expectations at work, support your emotional regulation and avoid performance concerns proactively. |
| L | CONTROL | You will understand how to turn constant last-minute pressure, uncertainty and burnout cycles into improved consistency and predictable performance. |

Frequently asked questions
A: Neurodiversity coaching and mentoring is a supportive and practical process that helps you understand how your brain works, what patterns lead you to overwhelm or burnout, how to avoid both, and how to build ways of working that actually fit your brain. This process isn’t about ‘fixing’ you so you can be more ‘normal’ but about helping you to create environments, systems and habits that use your unique neurodivergent strengths to work for you rather than against.
I use an approach of structured coaching blended with mentoring to give you the space for reflection and the practical tools to build your own way of working.
A: The important distinction is that coaching is a reflective and client-led process where we explore your strengths, values, challenges, patterns and goals and I help you find your own answers.
Mentoring is where I share practical guidance, such as tools, strategies and frameworks where that’s helpful for you.
This blended approach works particularly well for neurodivergent individuals.
A: No, and I’m not a therapist. However, if you are in therapy, coaching can complement this work very well. Similarly to therapy, coaching can be reflective and emotionally supportive, but in contrast to therapy, coaching focuses on supporting you with how you’d like to move forward.
A: A diagnosis is not necessary as we work to identify solutions to your unique challenges rather than applying standard ‘fixes’ for a particular diagnosis. As long as you recognise neurodivergent traits in yourself and are struggling at work, the ‘Excel as Yourself’ programme is for you.
A: Common issues affecting people at work are:
- overwhelm, constant exhaustion and burnout
- struggling with consistency and performance issues
- managing job and social expectations; conflict with colleagues
- executive function issues that present as task avoidance, time blindness, procrastination
- loss of confidence
- a job that doesn’t seem to fit however hard they try to make it work
A: My blended approach of coaching and mentoring focuses entirely on you and your unique strengths and values to support you with what you are trying to achieve. I don’t believe that you’re ‘broken’ and therefore I don’t believe you need ‘fixing’. I’m here to listen and understand what you are struggling with and support you to build a way of working that actually fits your brain. I don’t offer productivity coaching – I help you identify what truly works for you, and I combine my professional training and lived experience to support you with patience, kindness and all the space you need to think and be yourself.
PS: If you think you don’t have any strengths, you do! Let’s find them.
A: Most of my sessions are held online on Zoom. However, if you are based locally to Berkhamsted, UK, I also offer in-person sessions. These are often walking sessions or can be based at a venue of your choice.
If work feels harder than it should, this is where you change that.
